Fundraiser
For the BEST robotics competition we are doing a fundraiser. For the fundraiser we are selling hex bugs to our school. We have finally made the order and we are very excited to start. The first step was to figure out what fundraiser we should do. The choices we had were a bake sale, selling pencils and pens, car wash and selling hex bugs. We asked the principal which choices were ok for us to do. We could not do bake sale because we are not supposed to sell food at school. We decided we would not sell pens and pencils because we could not put a design on them. We were going to do the car wash, but we did not have enough people available. We finally decided that selling hex bugs during lunch would be the best idea. The next step was checking to see who had what lunch everyone has. 10 people have A lunch, 5 people have B lunch and 13 people have C lunch(One day they have A the next day they have C). We are so excited to begin our fundraiser! See you next time with the new update of the
fundraiser!
After speaking with a representative from the company of “Hexbugs” to obtain information, we decided that we were going to have a 2 week Hexbug sale; therefore we had ordered a variety of Hexbugs: Larvae, Ant, and Hexbug Nanos. We posted signs all around out school. We made a poster for our booth table, informing the students when and why we’re selling Hexbugs. We visited a numerous amount of advisory classes and presented muiltiple demos of each type of Hexbug we had. We wrote up an announcement to be made every morning for the 2 weeks during our sale. We came up with a booth maintenance schedule and kept track of the sales (how many Hexbugs had been sold each lunch, how much we to order to keep our customers satisfied, etc.) We have continued to demo the Hexbugs in advisory classes and at our sales table and to represent the LCIS RoboCats team. Starting from October 7th, 2013, we have been selling hex bugs at lunch. It has been a great sucess!
